South Lockport has no village hall and no mayor. The Census Bureau counts it as a census-designated place inside the Town of Lockport, just south of the city, and the town government itself works out of it: Town Hall is at 6560 Dysinger Road. Dysinger Road, Shimer Drive and the Transit corridor
South Lockport sits along Transit Road (Route 78). Catholic Health opened Lockport Memorial Hospital on Shimer Drive in October 2023, with an 18-bed emergency department and a small inpatient unit, and part of the old Lockport Mall site on Transit is now a Walmart supercenter. Most of South Lockport lies in the Lockport City School District, whose students go on to Lockport High School. A smaller part falls in Starpoint Central, with its campus on Mapleton Road in Pendleton. If your teenager is hurt midseason, we schedule therapy around the practice calendar rather than asking the season to wait.
Robinson Road to Virginia Street: physical therapy from South Lockport, NY
From the middle of South Lockport, the drive usually starts on Robinson Road (Route 93), turns south on Transit Road, then follows Millersport Highway to the 990 and on to the 290 and the Kensington. Free-flowing, the trip runs about 38 minutes. Transit Road at rush hour can add a good deal to that, so build in a margin, especially for your first visit.
Count on two or three appointments a week in the early going, so decide up front how they will fit. If your job is in Buffalo, a 7 AM visit (Tuesday through Friday) or a late-afternoon slot before the 6:30 PM close (Monday through Thursday) can ride along with the commute instead of adding a separate round trip.

Riding Route 44 instead
NFTA Metro’s Route 44 runs along Transit Road and Millersport Highway between Locust and Main in the city and University Station, and on some weekday trips the bus also serves Lockport Memorial Hospital. At the University Station end, the train heads down Main Street and stops at Allen/Medical Campus, close enough to walk to our door. Only some trips serve the hospital stop, so confirm the timetable on metro.nfta.com ahead of time.
After an ER visit on Shimer Drive
If an emergency department visit for a sprained ankle or a strained back ended with advice to follow up with physical therapy, we can usually pick up from there once serious injury has been ruled out. Bring your discharge papers and any imaging reports; our new patient guide covers the rest of what to bring.
Physical therapy works alongside a medical diagnosis and cannot stand in for one. Go back to a doctor or the emergency department, rather than waiting for therapy, if you notice new numbness or weakness, lose control of your bladder or bowels, cannot put weight on the leg, or have pain that keeps getting worse at rest.
